There’s a temple meditation quality to “Glittering Sky,” the second track of the Inner Banks’ self-titled electro-folk disc from late 2006. Track 3, the urgent, key-laden “Siberia,” would work like the disc’s overture with its Sufjan Stevens-like horn interludes. “Rhino” also has some of that Sufjan quality. Western slide guitar sounds are uncovered on “Buried West” with cool chiming. Finally, “Acoustic” is like returning to the green hills after being in an arid wasteland. It’s a beautiful morn of mountain flowers dotting the grassy slopes while there’s a “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” hint echoing from the peaks.
