Thanks to Buzz Records for the CD sampler of their artists. Their top group is the Radiotones, which Buzz describes as alt.blues. To me, they sound like traditional blues meets the Ramones. Yeah, they’ve got the blues licks, the wailing harmonica, but they also have that driving, pounding punk style going on. Being from Scotland, they’re a great find on this side of the pond. They fit right into the Blues Rock section of the Spectrum.
Besides 6 tracks from the Radiotones, this sampler also includes 2 blues tracks each from Catfish Keith and Tim Elliott. Thrown into the mix are 2 tracks from the hard rocking Tenesee Kait—a band which Buzz Records is supporting until they find the right label.
